First things are the requirements. You have to be base level 99, I’m not yet quite sure what is the minimum job level but some claim that you don’t have to be job 70 (for trans class) to change jobs.
1. Go to Turtle Island (tur_dun01 156 36) and talk to Survival Instructor.
2. He will then instruct you to remove all of your equipment and make your weight 0 (zenny is not included). You will be warped back to Alberta. If you have good set Battle grounds equipment it is an advantage because its weight is 0 so use it while taking the test.
3. Return and talk to the test supervisor again. He will give you a survival test; you must reach Test Instructor Teardrop at the North-West tip of the island. He will provide you 1 Bow, 50 Arrows and 10 Fly Wings.
4. Once you find teardrop npc, drop all of your items (including the ones that was given to you), reducing your weight to zero again.
5. Tell Test Instructor Teardrop "I came here for the test". He will then tell you to kill 1 Dragon Tail and return with 1 Wing of Dragon Fly.
6. After passing the initial test, he will then warp you to a new test waiting area and providing you with new set of arrows. Here you have to pass 3 tests. Enter the chatroom and wait for your turn. Note: If you fail any of the 3, you’ll have to start from the beginning. Drop all excess weight then talk to teardrop to re-enter the waiting area.
7. first test requires you to kill Porings (careful, Porings may look like any monster, make sure to check the name carefully). Each successful kill get’s you 1 point, you lose a point if you make a mistake. You need to get 15 points within the time limit to pass. Note: This test requires observation of the pattern. You just have to observe the monster that would spawn at 12 o’clock of your sniper/hunter.

8. On the next test talk to the NPC to get bombrings. You use this item to plant bombs to kill the monsters in your path where you must reach another NPC on the other end and give her the 2,000 worth of reports. If you have a good set of BG equips you have a better chance of completing this test. Also, don’t forget to activate your Windwalk skill before talking to the NPC because your weight will be 90% upon receiving the items needed for the quest.
9. Reach the Test Supervisor Kowsyun at the end of the path to pass the test.
10. On this last test you will need to use your pet wolf to disarm as Egg Bombs within a time limit. Disarm at least 10 of the 20 Egg Bombs to pass the test. You will be given a mercenary in the form of a baby desert wolf. Using the wolf, attack all the eggs (peco peco egg) just like using a merce (alt+ click).
11. After passing all the tests, you will be redirected to the Ranger Master who will change you into a Ranger. Talk to him again to be warp to Alberta.
I was very excited to try out this class in valkyrie server and the first thing that pop in my head was Phendarks.
